The RGS Speciality Grinder has the capability to grind switches, crossings, and speciality track work as well as open rail. It is the most versatile grinder in Loram's fleet of grinders. Featuring the same highly productive 30 HP grind motor as on large Production Rail Grinders the RGS provides many advantages including: grinds at speeds up to 12 mph, capable of grinding a complete switch in 7-9 minutes, electric grind motors have independent tilt & shifts resulting in better, fuller, grind pass coverage, grinding angles @ 25 deg. Field, 75 deg. Gauge to address all grinding conditions, optional 45 deg. Field to 55 deg. Gauge, fire protection equipment such as tie sprays, ditch sprays, water cannons and up to 4,500 gallons of water. Enhanced safety and environmentally-friendly with dust control system, flame resistant hydraulic fluid, spark guards and includes an ample supply of fire fighting equipment.
