Model 3535 Hydraulic Drive Rail Gear
We are excited to introduce the Model 3535 Hydraulic Drive Rail Gear, a groundbreaking system designed to transform standard hydraulic excavators with a capacity of up to 35 tons into on/off railroad excavators. This system is ingeniously integrated, allowing for endless machine configurations, especially when combined with an excavator boom equipped with a TiltRotator for quick tool changes. Our retractable hi-rail gear is seamlessly built into the excavator’s car body, empowering it to function both as a traditional excavator and a highly efficient on-rail material handler. The dual hydraulic motors enable the rail gear axles to reach speeds of up to 20 mph on railroads, with enhanced braking provided by dual cobra brake shoes alongside a hydrostatic braking system. The innovative design also includes features like ride control for stability on uneven tracks and a manual selector valve for simple transitions between drive modes, ensuring that operators can confidently and efficiently manage rail operations.
