Montana Hydraulics extensive work with the railroad industry has led to the development of a safer, more efficient operating system for railroad ballast cars. Our fully automated remote control hydraulic systems are far superior to manually controlled systems and allow for a safer more effective means of placing ballast. We utilize solar charged battery systems, radio remote control systems, PLC logic controllers and hydraulic actuation of ballast gates.
Our current ballast gate systems design deem the existing systems obsolete, offering improved performance and maintainability. Our modular gate system converts coal cars to ballast cars. We have also developed prototype ballast cars using our proven gate systems.
In addition to development, we offer installation of our custom operating systems with service technicians on staff to provide training. We also offer service contracts to maintain ballast cars and currently service BNSF and other railroads.
